Placement Service and ACCA Launch Career Advisory Messaging Platform Kuccps 2018 Intake

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants(ACCA) have launched a messaging platform for the dissemination of information on affordable career enhancing opportunities to students. This is part of a Memorandum of Understanding entered into between the KUCCPS and ACCA Kenya in June 2017 for the provision of career advisory and financial literacy education to students. 

Through the MoU, the ACCA would provide complimentary financial literacy courses through the ACCA-X platform to all applicants at the Placement Service, and offer career guidance and advice to the students interested in Accounting, Finance and Management.

The two bodies will also work collaboratively to enhance the employability of university graduates into the accountancy and financial sector and provide career opportunities.   As part of the MoU implementation, ACCA and KUCCPS jointly developed a messaging platform for the dissemination and signposting ACCA’s affordable career enhancing opportunities to all groups of students at all levels.

The messaging platform was officially unveiled by the Placement Service CEO, Mr. John Muraguri and Head of ACCA Kenya, Marion Mwangi at the Placement Service offices in Nairobi.

Mr. Muraguri acknowledged that through the partnership, students who are the major Placement Service stakeholders will immensely gain from career guidance, linkages with employers and the free and affordable ACCA resources for Financial Literacy, which has become so fundamental for any graduate. For her part, the Head of ACCA Kenya expressed excitement with the partnership, terming it a great value proposition for both parties
