A delegation from the Oman Defence College visited the Defence Headquarters on Monday, 19 March 2018.
The delegation was led by Brigadier Mohamed Al Saifi who paid a courtesy call to the Chief of Defence Forces General Samson Mwathethe with whom they had a brief talk on diplomacy and Kenya-Oman military cooperation.
The delegation was then taken through a presentation that centered on the structure of the KDF and the roles it engages in, at the Headquarters Kenya Army Officer’s Mess. The session was led by Assistant Chief of Defence Forces Operations, Doctrine and Training (OPD & T) Major General Adan Mulata, and it also touched on terrorism across the globe and particularly the East African Region.
The event saw the NDC Oman Officers engage in a question and answer session with Kenya Senior Officers on various issues that KDF was involved in, particularly operations, border security and modern ways of dealing with terrorism and radicalization.
The Oman delegation is in the country for a week and has visited the International Peace Support Training Centre. The delegation will also visit several other institutions among them the National Defence College, East African Standby Force Secretariat, Kenya Navy headquarters and the Parliament.
