Kirinyaga University is government owned and established under the Universities Act No.42 of 2012.
At present, the University runs degree programmes across six faculties; Health Sciences, Hospitality
and Textile Technology, Computing and Information Technology, Business and Economics, Pure and
Applied Sciences, and Engineering and Built Environment. The University is a chartered University
and is among the vibrant and fastest growing citadels of learning in Kenya. It is situated about 115
kilometers from Nairobi.
The University invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons with excellent
academic credentials to fill the following positions;
ACADEMIC POSITIONS
SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES
Tutorial Fellow - 2 Positions (Re-advertisement) KyU/AC/108/11/2018
Area/Field of specialization: Forensic Science, Clinical Medicine, Biochemistry or equivalent
qualifications.
NON-ACADEMIC POSITION
Estates /Maintenance Officer Grade 11 (1Position) KyU/NT/052/11/2018
REQUIREMENTS
1. TUTORIAL FELLOW GRADE 11
Applicants must:
ï‚· | Have Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree qualification from accredited and recognized university in the relevant field; Be registerable for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)or equivalent Doctoral Degree qualification; and Be registered or registerable with the relevant professional body (where applicable). |

2. Estates/ Maintenance Officer Applicants must have: |

ï‚· | Bachelor’s/Bachelor of Technology in Building, Land Economics, Architecture, Engineering, Construction & Property Management, or equivalent qualification from a |

ï‚· | At least three (3) years relevant qualification experience at a senior level in a |
large/similar organization.

ï‚· | Knowledge of building structural, mechanical and electrical services and grounds management. Experience in conducting site surveys and evaluating feasibility studies. Proven record in managing construction and maintenance personnel. Knowledge and experience in carrying out civil works and evaluating drawings and specifications for projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD and other project software. Be registered with the relevant professional body. Considerable knowledge of a University set up. |

Terms and conditions of service
ï‚· Successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package.
ï‚· Employment will be on permanent and pensionable terms except for Tutorial Fellows who will
be employed on two (2) years contract renewable depending on progress towards achievement
of PhD degree.
ï‚· Those with degrees from foreign universities should attach certificates of equation and
recognition of qualifications from Commission for University Education.
