How to Link your PayPal Account with your Equity Bank Account and Withdraw Funds

You only add a US bank account through the PayPal website.

To link your Equity Bank Kenya Bank account, please go to the Equity Bank website (www.selfservice.equitybankgroup.com/login).

1. Verify your account:

Before you can link your bank account, you need to verify your PayPal account by linking and confirming a credit or debit card with a Visa, MasterCard, AMEX or Discover logo.

I’ve outlined the steps on how to link and confirm your card:

1.Log into your PayPal account.
2.Click Wallet at the top of the page.
3.Click + Link a card.
4.Enter your details and click Save.
5.Click the card you want to confirm.
6.Click ‘Confirm My Credit Card’ then click OK.

Note: If you want to confirm the card currently linked to your PayPal account, you can skip Step 3 and Step 4.

If you have trouble completing these steps then you can access it directly by logging in to your PayPal account and visiting https://www.paypal.com/mem-number.

We’ll charge your card $1.95 USD or in the equivalent in KES. This charge and a 4-digit PayPal code will appear on your card statement within 2 to 5 business days or sooner depending on your card issuer.

The code format appears as PayPal*1234CODE or PP*1234CODE. You will need the first 4 digits to confirm your card. We will refund the charge back to your card as soon as you confirm it.

PayPal will not send the 4-digit code via text message or email address. We’ll only send it to your card/bank statement. Please check your Online Card Statement/Internet Banking or call your bank directly to locate the $1.95 USD charge and the PayPal code. We can also do a conference call with your bank to help you get the PayPal code.

I have outlined the steps below on how to confirm your card once you have the code.

1.Log in to your account and click Wallet.
2.Click the card you’re confirming.
3.Click Ready To Confirm.
4.Enter the 4-digit PayPal code and submit.

Let me assure you that your PayPal account will be Verified.

2. To link your Equity Bank Kenya bank account to your PayPal account:

1.Go to the Equity Bank website (www.selfservice.equitybankgroup.com/login) to access PayPal services.
2.Log into the site with your portal username and password. If you are new, click register and follow the process of registration; this is a one-time process.
3.On the menu, click Banking services.
4.Enter your bank account and click Link Account.
5.A One Time PIN (OTP) will be sent to the cell phone number associated with Equity Bank account.
6.Enter the OTP and click Confirm OTP.
7.If the OTP has been confirmed successfully, you will see a confirmation message saying that the account has been successfully linked.
8.On the menu list, click PayPal Services.
9.Enter your PayPal email address and select the bank account added in step 4 above, and click Link Account.
10.You will be redirected to PayPal via a pop-up window. Enter your PayPal account password and click Authorize.
11.You will be redirected back to the Equity Bank website with a message saying that your PayPal account has been successfully linked.

a. PayPal Balance Inquiry:

1.On the “PayPal Services Menu”, click My PayPal Balance.
2.Select your linked PayPal account and click Submit Request.
3.Your PayPal account balance will be displayed.

3. PayPal Withdrawal Process:

1.On the “PayPal Services Menu”, click Withdraw Service.
2.Select your linked PayPal account.
3.Enter the amount to withdraw. The amount must be less than or equal to your PayPal account balance.
4.Click Accept.
5.You will receive a message saying that the withdrawal from your PayPal account was successful, and that the funds will appear in your bank account within 3 business days.
